Formulated by hand, slowly.

HUMUS was founded by Iris Möller and a small team of cosmetic chemists, herbalists and a soil scientist. Every formula begins in our 800-square-foot studio on Wythe Avenue, in batches no larger than 600 jars.

We measure efficacy the same way a farmer measures soil: over seasons, not weeks. Each product is tested for twelve months against the New York climate before it leaves the lab.
